Marine Service Technician

Full-Time, Year Round Position

Department: Service Department

Reports To: Service Director/Manager

Position Summary:

Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds within The Harbor Service Department.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and maintenance on Volvo engines and stern outdrives, Mercrusier engines and outdrives, Mercury outboard engines, etc.
• Safely operate equipment on grounds, including tractor, sky track, vehicles, etc.
• Maintain technician certification from Mercury and/or Volvo and stay up to date on new technology and information.
• Test and ensuring a stable performance of marine engines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records.
• Accurately assess boat functions and conduct operational tests.
• Perform other jobs and responsibilities as requested by Service Manager or Marina Partner.

• Must follow all safety standards and procedures; including chemical handling standards and Personal Protective Equipment.

Adaptable to Change -Must be willing to change priorities quickly and accept new direction.

Reasoning Ability – Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education – This position requires a minimum of four (4) years High School, or GED and technical training certification.

Experience – This position requires previous work experience within the marine service industry and a certification from Mercury and/or Volvo.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able work in outdoor weather conditions.
